Privacy policy

The short version

We do not have accounts, so we do not hold your name, your email address or your customer list. What you type into a generator never leaves your browser. The one exception is the feedback box in the footer, which you have to open yourself, and which holds only what you choose to type into it.

Document generators

Every generator on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you click to download a filled PDF, the file is assembled on your own device by JavaScript running on the page. The business names, customer details, job addresses, line items and prices you enter are never transmitted to this site, to our hosting provider, or to any third party.

Your own business details, meaning the name, address, phone, email and license number you enter in the business block, are saved in your browser's local storage so that you do not have to retype them on your next visit. This data stays on your device. Clearing your browser's site data for this site removes it.

Feedback and site search

Every page has a box in the footer for telling us what is missing or what did not work. If you use it we store what you wrote, which page you were on, the date, and an email address only if you chose to give one. No account is created and nothing else is attached to it. We read it to decide what to build next, and we do not pass it to anyone.

When a search on this site comes back with no results, we record the words you searched for and the page you searched from, so that we can build the thing you were looking for. Nothing is recorded when a search finds something, and searching itself runs entirely in your browser either way.

Neither of those stores your IP address. It is turned into a short one way fingerprint the moment it arrives, which is enough to see that forty messages came from one place without telling us where that place is, and the fingerprint changes every time the server restarts.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and which are not. It records the page you visited, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device type and how you arrived. We do not send Google the contents of any form field. Google's own handling of that data is covered by their privacy policy.

Advertising

This site is funded by display advertising. Advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure and to limit how often you see the same advertisement. Where a partner offers personalised advertising, it may use information about your browsing to select what is shown. You can control much of this through your browser settings and, in supported regions, through the consent controls the advertising partner presents.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass anything you enter into a generator to any advertising partner, because we never receive it in the first place.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies. Analytics and advertising partners may set their own. Blocking third party cookies in your browser does not affect any template download or generator on this site.

Children

This site is aimed at people running a trade business and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because we hold no account data, there is usually nothing for us to export or delete. If you believe we hold something about you, write to the address on the contact page and we will deal with it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially the date at the top will change with it.
